Just the One Channel is a blog about the history of television in Australia with a rural South Australian focus. It mostly concerns what TV was like for someone growing up in a South Australian country town that had literally just one television channel until late 1976.
I will be sharing my insights and discoveries as I explore the Australian, British and American television programming that appeared on ABC TV through the 1960s, 1970s and beyond, to discover just how much that ‘Just the One Channel’ influenced the paths I have taken in my life. I hope you will enjoy travelling with me on this no doubt erratic journey.
